Jovan Maljokovic is a famous Belgrade saxophone player, composer and arranger. His Balkan Salsa Band has existed for almost fifteen years, representing Serbia at many festivals throughout Europe and Cuba. In the last few years they have performed at Rottweil Jazz Festival (Germany), Festivals of Cultures in Luxembourg and Vienna, Django Reinhardt International Jazz Festival in Samois, Montreux Jazz Festival, etc. Jovan Maljokovic Balkan Salsa Band has performed in Athens, representing Serbia at the Olympic Games 2004.

Maljokovic is the founder and art director of one of the most important festivals in Serbia – Valjevo Jazz Fest. This festival is known for hosting top domestic jazz artists.
From the very beginning, as a composer, arranger and player, Maljokovic has used Balkan folk music for his jazz compositions. So far he has had nine CDs released.
Jovan’s program is called BALKAN SALSA, so – be prepared for a pleasant surprise!

FIRST PRIZE WINNER in the World category of the 2005 USA Songwriting Competition with composition Water-mill written by Nikola Starcevic and performed by Trio Balkan Strings. FIRST PRIZE WINNER - Trio Balkan Strings won first prize and the Dolphin statue for being the best instrumental ensemble on the Music World 2004 Italy Festival Internacionale Fivizzano. FIRST PRIZE WINNER - of the JoAnn Falletta International Composition Competition for Guitar 2007 Buffalo, New York (Asiana IV written by Nikola Starcevic).

ALEKSA DANIC

   ALEKSA DANIĆ was born in 2005 in Belgrade. He is only 15 years old and goes to the first grade of 

computer high school. He graduated from the lower and last music school Kosta Manojlović in Zemun, 

department of classical guitar. He started playing the guitar at the age of four.

His favorite musicians are: Eric Clapton, Tommy Emmanuel, John Mayer,… whose songs he loves to 

perform in his original way. The guitar is his great love. In his free time, he makes arrangements of 

his favorite songs, works on his first album and hopes to record soon. He has been actively performing 

since the age of 

eleven, and singles out performances at: Guitar Art Festival 2018, Rock in Festival in 2017, 

Gradic Fest in Novi Sad in 2018, Jazz & Blues Festival Art Avlija in 2019, Velikogradistanska gitarijada 

in 2019 and guest appearance at Vlado Georgiev's concert at the Sava Center in 2019.

He states that he would like to influence other children with his playing, to have thousands of children 

who nurture some other values. Unfortunately, he is lonely in his environment when it comes to musical 

taste, and it is not much different among the elderly.
